Finnish Space Law Association (FSLA) was established in summer 2025 from a shared belief that the rapid growth of Finland’s space sector must be matched with equally dynamic legal understanding, research, and collaboration.

We want to bridge this gap between space technology, research and law.

Our mission is to promote, support, and advance knowledge and research of space law in Finland.

FSLA serves as a platform for experts, researchers, policymakers, and students to engage in dialogue, share knowledge, and interdisciplinary collaboration to cultivate future legal expertise.

Our vision is to position Finland as a leading European hub for responsible and innovative space governance - one that is internationally connected, academically strong, and actively contributing to the development of the next generation of space law experts.

We want to foster a future where Finland is internationally recognised for space law research and education, driving collaboration between legal, technical, scientific, and industry actors.

FSLA’s mission and vision align closely with Finland’s Space Strategy 2030, which emphasises responsible space activities, strong expertise, international cooperation, and the development of space-related knowledge and skills.

By promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, education, and open knowledge-sharing in space law, FSLA contributes to building the legal and institutional foundations needed to support Finland’s growing space sector and its long-term strategic goals.
